Cobra Introduces Heritage Collection

Once upon a time and not that long ago, Cobra was the KING of Limited Edition, or at a minimum, themed golf equipment. The company has backed off quite a bit over the last few seasons; no more special Orange, Masters, or US Open-themed drivers for example, but this year the company is reviving the tradition with its new Heritage Collection.

bryson-heritageBilled as "a tribute to the game and its bygone era," everything in The Heritage Collection (a collaboration with Bryson DeChambeau) features a distinctive, throwback style. While I suspect the tailored chinos won't get a ton of attention (khaki pants, amirite?), the belt and even the chestnut herringbone driver cap (big fan of the driver cap, myself) will appeal to some of you.

The biggest potential needle mover in the collection, however, is the KING F7 Wood Grain Driver. There's no need to rehash Cobra F7 technology here. What's new is the paint, and that paint brings a wood-grain finish meant to give the appearance of old-school persimmon. Again, we're throwing back to bygone days of yore when clubs were made of wood and whatnot.

It's a reasonable assumption that not everyone wants his carbon fiber crowns to look like wood, but I do recall the Cleveland Classic series gained a bit of a cult following due in large part to the throwback aesthetic. Cobra might find similar traction here.

Like all 2017 Cobra Drivers, the F7 Limited Edition Throwback Driver features Cobra Connect Technology (Powered by Arccos). Effectively, it's a Cobra-branded version of Arccos Driver with the sensor embedded directly into the grip. Cobra Connect allows you to track each drive as well as your cumulative driving statistics. Features like KING of the Hole create games within the larger game to keep you engaged and focused on your driving. As is also the case with every 2017 Driver, Cobra Connect is included for no additional cost, which means you get a wood-grained driver packed with modern stat-tracking technology for only $349.

If You're In Hilton Head

To celebrate the launch of the Heritage Collection, COBRA PUMA Golf and Bryson DeChambeau are hosting a Heritage Happy Hour at the PGA Superstore on Hilton Head Island. You'll have a chance to hang with Bryson and hit the new driver.
